Mini (a BMW subsidiary) will be leasing 500 electric Mini Coopers in early 2009 in California, NYC, and New Jersey. The car has 204 hp, 162 lb-ft electric motor, gets to 62 mph in 8.5 seconds and reportedly can cover about 150 miles on a full charge of its lithium ion battery pack.
