Osheaga Music Festival 2012 [CONCERTS]

Osheaga is a unique and eclectic music and arts festival staged in the breath-taking environs of Montreal’s Parc Jean-Drapeau on Île Sainte-Hélène, an island of tranquility set in the middle of the bustle of one of North America’s most exciting cities. The festival was inaugurated in 2006 with the intention of offering a world-class European-style festival to Canadians and to showcase Montreal’s acclaimed local talent alongside some of the industry’s biggest names. The artist line-up was designed to present a mix of today’s most avant-garde emerging artists juxtaposed against those internationally known artists who appeal to the most discerning music lover.


This year the festival includes acts like Feist, Snoop Dogg, A$AP Rocky, The Weeknd, The Black Keys, Aloe Blacc, Santigold, City & Colour, and another dozen bands worth mentioning, but If you’re not sold already, what’s the point?

The festival founders also sought to provide fans with an unparalleled experience by offering them the best music, the best food and concessions, and an eco-conscious approach.

Santigold North American Tour [CONCERT]

Santigold has a new album, Master of My Make-Believe, out May 1st (already out April 23rd for those in the UK) via Downtown/Atlantic, which she will support with a just-announced North American tour. Wah Do Dem [FILM]

Gotta love indie films. Gotta love Jamaica. I need to see this! Music & Appearances by: MGMT, Yeasayer, Santigold, The Congos, Suckers, Myskal Rose, Mr. Lexx and Sean Bones

In WAH DO DEM, young Brooklyn musician Max (Sean Bones) decides to go on a Caribbean cruise alone when his girlfriend Willow (Norah Jones) dumps him cold two days before the trip. Once in Jamaica, Max quickly escapes the tourist zone for more "authentic" surroundings and in the process is robbed of his possessions and is stranded, and literally misses the boat. As Max sets out for the American Embassy in Kingston on foot, Jamaica is waiting to meet him with unexpected and extraordinary encounters, including a full-moon celebration with the legendary reggae group The Congos, and a dreamy stay with a Rasta prophet (Carl Bradshaw, THE HARDER THEY COME).
