The Fader x Andre 3000 [INTERVIEW]

The Fader gets Andre 3 Stacks on the line fresh off his “DoYaThing” collaboration with Converse, the Gorillaz and James Murphy to speak on his collaborations, almost turning 40, the information era, OutKast, Rap’s next generation, and an upcoming solo project.

FADER: A music video used to be such an event. Is it also about taking some of that excitement back?

Andre: Yeah, maybe. I don’t know. Things have changed now. There’s so much content. People record everything. People will record [themselves] sitting on the toilet seat just talking. I don’t know what’s an event anymore. The only thing I know how to do is go with what I know, and I just feel like—it just didn’t seem like a right time to do it. For me to jump in videos, if I wasn’t sure I was prepared to back it up. I always felt like, if I’m going to jump in the video, there’s going to be an album coming.

Tyler The Creator of OFWGKTA [INTERVIEW]

"Greatness, is a different definition to different people..."

Sure, Tyler The Creator utilizes the word "Fuck" frequently but behind that exterior is a free-spirit representing the collective group "Odd Future" better known as "Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All". Behind his vulgarity the interview lies a deep message of progression and self-validation.

"I'm hungry for VMA's & Grammy's, that's my main goal....Fuck this underground bullshit"

"I ain't gotta sink nothing in, I just know."

...it would seem "Christopher Walker" is Big's doppelgänger. Sidenote: It's unfortunate that Coogi isn't this cool any more.

Shout out to DJ Smarties for lifting this one out of the archives.

Shawty 'Lo - T.I. "Beef is dead"

I know my homie Dre isn't going to be too pleased to hear this, but The Hip Hop Chronicle is reporting that beef between Shawty Lo and T.I. has been squashed out. If you have been following Shawty Lo you're probably familiar with his back and forth with T.I. but in the interview he leaves room to incinuate that not only is the beef dead, but there may a collaboration record in works...Ha Ha Ha (Shawty Lo laugh)

Even more importantly, the interview gets into some of Shawty Lo's philanthropic efforts, specifically helping people with diabetes. I definitely tip my hat to that.
