Stephen Colbert Will Replace David Letterman [TELEVISION]

Comedian Stephen Colbert will be taking over as host of the Late Show, CBS confirmed in a tweet on Thursday.

Colbert is the current host of Comedy Central's The Colbert Report, and is fucking awesome!

Earlier this month, long-time Late Show host David Letterman announced that he would be retiring in 2015. It now begs the question, who/what will replace The Colbert Report? Good question, right?

Arrested Development Season 4 [TELEVISION]

If you don't know, Arrested Development is the story of a wealthy family that lost everything, and the one son who had no choice but to keep them all together. It's “Arrested Development,” the Emmy Award and Golden Globe-winning series starring one of the funniest ensembles in TV comedy, who taught viewers the meaning of “never nude,” spread a dangerous amount of misinformation about maritime law, and reminded everyone “that's why you always leave a note.”

Season 4 begins May 26 exclusively on Netflix. Watch the new season trailer HERE.

FOX Presents: Allen Gregory [TELEVISION]

"Allen Gregory" (not be confused with Toronto based bespoke fashion brand Gregory Allen) is the 7 year old brainchild of Jonah Hill and friends premièring on FOX as part of their new fall line up. Jonah provides the voice of the young Sir Gregory, who is a precocious 7-year-old forced to adapt to life in a public school after his rich, flamboyantly gay father falls on tough times. Off the strength of the awesomeness that is Superbad, I'm interested to see if this picks up steam. If the preview is any indication, it will be along the lines of no holds barred hilarity. Allen Gregory premieres October 30th at 8:30/7:30c on FOX.

Notorious B.I.G. Interview - Toronto: Rap City (1995) [TELEVISION]

"I ain't gotta sink nothing in, I just know."

...it would seem "Christopher Walker" is Big's doppelgänger. Sidenote: It's unfortunate that Coogi isn't this cool any more.

Shout out to DJ Smarties for lifting this one out of the archives.

"Misfits" [TELEVISION]

Misfits, is an English television show my homie Rawkeem put me on, and it's been a non-stop veiwing pleasure ever since. Think Trainspotting meets Kidulthood meets Heroes...though originally pitched before Heroes ever went to air. The show oozes English humour, wit, crassness, and speaks to an young adult audience like very few shows on Television does currently (with a young cast)...in my opinion it is simply genius. It has been picking up mega buzz in it's native land as one of the best things on the "tele".Unfortunately...or fortunately depending on how you look at it, we here in North America can only see it online.

The show airs every Thursday night at 10pm (so check online hosting sites the following day)...check the trailer here. If you already watch the show...check this spoiler clip from this weeks upcoming episode here.

'The Wire' ...Will Be A Class at Havard University [POP CULTURE]

An ivy league series...given the intricacies, and complexities of the show I am not as surprised to learn this news. I was explaining the concept of the show to a friend of mine last night, and in doing so it had dawned on me on just how deep the sociopolitical concepts were. Check this interview with the shows creator, David Simon, did with Bill Moyers a little while back here.

THE Wire," HBO's gritty series about life in the Baltimore ghetto, is about to become a course at Harvard.

The announcement came at a panel discussion at the school featuring several of the show's stars, according to the Harvard student newspaper, The Crimson.

My Favourite New Comedy: "Community" [TELEVSION]

This new comedy series has provided me with a seemingly endless supply of comedic relief over the last few days. I have been been quoting, and drawing parallels in within my own life which only helps to sustain my fondness for the show. From the minds that brought us Arrested Development, come Community...try it, you'll love it...probably.

From Dan Harmon ("The Sarah Silverman Program") and Emmy Award-winning directors Joe and Anthony Russo ("Arrested Development") comes "Community," a smart comedy series about a band of misfits who attend Greendale Community College. At the center of the group is Jeff Winger (Joel McHale, "The Soup"), a fast-talkin' lawyer whose degree has been revoked. With some help from his fellow classmates, Winger forms a study group who eventually learn more about themselves than their course work.

Also among the series stars who comprise the group are comedy legend Chevy Chase ("Chuck") as Pierce, a man whose life experience has brought him infinite wisdom; Gillian Jacobs ("The Book of Daniel") as Britta, the 28-year old drop out with something to prove; Yvette Nicole Brown ("Rules of Engagement") as Shirley, a sassy middle-aged divorcée; Danny Pudi ("Greek") as Abed, a pop culture junkie; Alison Brie ("Mad Men") as Annie, a high-strung perfectionist; Donald Glover ("30 Rock") as Troy, a former high school football star trying to find his way and Ken Jeong ("The Hangover") as Spanish professor, Señor Chang.

'Entourage' picked up for sixth season!

One of my favourite ways to spend a Sunday evening will continue remain that way as HBO will be doing a sixth season of the famed Entourage. We are exactly 5 episodes deep into the 5th season and if you saw this past Sunday's episode I'm sure you're looking forward to this weekend!

Via THR Watch episode 5 here.
