Barack Obama : GQ's "Man Of The Year"

[Given only 1 minute, 45 seconds for the entire shoot, this cover shot was photographed by Mark Seliger in Philadelphia on October 3.]

If you're like me, you probably picked up as many Obama laced front cover periodicals you could get your hand's to keep as a memento. This will be joining my collection.

GQ has named Barack Obama one if its "Men of the Year" with a cover and article — penned by Senator Ted Kennedy — that went to press before Election Day.

Obama is joined by Michael Phelps, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Jon Hamm, each of whom grace one of GQ's four "Men of the Year" covers.

GQ named Obama "Game Changer of the Year," and an excerpt of Kennedy's piece appears below:

"As I write this, Barack Obama and John McCain have just completed their final debate, and the country is a few short days away from a historic election. Of course, I'm doing all that I can for my candidate. But whether he wins or loses, Barack Obama has ushered in a new era of American politics with a limitless vision of a better future that will endure for many years to come. Through his candidacy, Obama has provided a glimpse of a stronger, better, fairer America, where change comes from the bottom up, where we all come together to meet the great challenges of our time. He has inspired millions of new voters of all ages, races, and incomes to lend their voices for real change. For in this man, Americans can see not just the audacity but the possibility of hope for the country that is yet to be....

That is what I saw when I enlisted in his campaign. I saw new hope for a way out of the economic wilderness and for a just and fair prosperity that rewards the many and not the few. New hope that this nation will at last lead the world to turn the tide of global warming and turn aside from an energy future that threatens the future itself. New hope that we will teach all our children well. New hope--and this is the cause of my life--that we will guarantee for every American quality affordable health care as a fundamental right and not as a privilege. New hope--and this is the great cause of America itself--that we shall overcome once and for all the setting of race against race, gender against gender, ethnic group against ethnic group, and straight against gay.

Win or lose, with the Obama candidacy the torch has been passed, and I hope I made a difference."

Clipse - The Funeral [VIDEO]

This is vintage Clipse...from the unreleased album Exclusive Audio Footage circa late 96-early 1997, while they were signed to elektra. Produced almost entirely by The Neptunes, and was the moment where the relationship was forged, and set the wheels in motion that resulted in what we know today as Star-Trak, Re-Up Gang etc.

Props to Modi!

Miles Davis x Supreme Limeted Edition Set

Supreme along with the Miles Davis Foundation, and Sony Music will re-release a Limited Edition series of three of Miles’ most influential records. Digitally remastered. Exact reproduction of the original 12″ album.

According to Supreme:

Widely considered one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century, Miles Davis was at the forefront of almost every major development in Jazz from World War II to the 1990s. In his career he touched on be-bop, cool jazz, modal jazz, funk, and on his last album, even hip-hop. Many leading jazz musicians made their names in Davis’ groups, including pianist Herbie Hancock and saxophonist John Coltrane. Outside of his genius as a musician, Miles was an iconic figure in terms of his personal style and his attitude and defined what ‘cool’ really was.

GAP Holiday Commercial [VIDEO]

I enjoy The GAP's holiday advertisements, and this one hits it the mark. It features a barrage of celebrities, and must have cost a pretty penny. I just wonder if Flo-Rida really felt it was necessary to add 24's to Santa's sled?

Check out the entire series, and even create your own mix here.

Would you buy a Hyundai if Prada designed it?

I'm sure Mario Prada didn't envision his name associated with a economy brand automobile maker, but that's exactly what's happening! I wrote a little bit about the Hyundai Genesis before but at the time I definitely see this coming. The Prada Genesis will be unveiled at the Seoul Motor Show next April, and will be a limited 1 of 3. Two of the three will be auctioned off for charity. Ballin' on a budget for real for real!

Kanye Arrested...again

You might have heard about the first incident at LAX. Now big homie is taking his rap sheet internationally! Yeezy...You are slowly turning into the Mad Rapper!

LONDON — Rapper Kanye West was arrested after a fracas outside a nightclub but released without charge, British media reported Friday.

The Press Association news agency and others reported that that the 31-year-old rapper was detained early Friday after an incident involving a photographer outside the Tup Tup Palace bar in Newcastle, northern England.

Police said only that a 31-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of assault after an incident at a nightclub. They said he was later released without charge. British police do not usually identify suspects who have not been charged.

The Tup Tup Palace said West visited the club after his gig in Newcastle Thursday but could not confirm the arrest.

A spokeswoman for West did not immediately return a call seeking comment.

West was arrested last month at Los Angeles International Airport after he was filmed struggling with a paparazzo. He was not charged.

West is playing dates around Britain as part of his Glow in the Dark tour.
