Nike NOCTA Apparel Collection [FASHION]

NOCTA, a collection for the collective, has arrived. The form fitting apparel nods to sport, but is rooted and inspired by those who roam the streets, who are on the go and want functional, comfortable and elevated everyday essentials.
The timeless silhouettes and style lines mirror Nike's evolution through the years. For this drop, an aggressive and distinct Black and University Gold color palette makes a striking first impression. A mix of functional and cosmetic details, like reflective piping and beveled swooshes throughout the collection, add subtle yet distinctive details that compliment each other. Each piece is marked with the symbols of NOCTA and the spirit of the night.

Visit NOCTA for more info.

Nike Air Max 90 Essential “Infrared” [SNEAKERS]

I haven't done a sneaker post in a very long time, but the infrared Air Max 90 is my favourite Nike sneaker of all time, hands down, 6:30! My beloved “Infrared” hue returns to its rightful place on the classic Air Max 90 with the introduction of a brand new take on the Air Max 90 Essential. Donning a combination of black and anthracite throughout its suede and mesh upper, the kicks see a contrasting white midsole and metallic silver hits to the Swoosh and text branding as Infrared appears on the likes of the outsole, midsole wedge, eyestay, mudguard branding window and heel. The Nike Air Max 90 Essential “Infrared” is now available online HERE.

Nike MAG: Marty McFly's For Parkinsons Cure [SNEAKERS]

The NIKE MAG is no longer the “greatest shoe never made.” The mythical shoe that originally captured the imagination of audiences in Back to the Future II is being released – and they’re here to help create a future without Parkinson’s disease.

1500 pairs of the 2011 NIKE MAG will be auctioned on eBay with all net proceeds going directly to The Michael J. Fox Foundation. Each day for the duration of the ten-day auction, one hundred and fifty pairs of the 2011 NIKE MAG shoes will be made available via eBay’s Fashion Vault. The auction started September 8, 8:30PM PST, and will end September 18. Thanks to a previous 50 million dollar match given to the Michael J. Fox Foundation, all donations will be matched, effectively doubling the contributions from the auction.

The original NIKE MAG was worn by the Back to the Future character Marty McFly, played by Michael J. Fox, in the year 2015. It came alive, lit up and formed to Marty’s foot. The 2011 NIKE MAG shoe was designed to be a precise replica of the original from Back to the Future II. The aesthetic is an exact match, down to the contours of the upper, the glowing LED panel and the electroluminescent NIKE in the strap. The 2011 NIKE MAG illuminates with the pinch of the “ear” of the high top, glowing for five hours per charge.

Nike Sportswear Blazer Mid Supreme “Curry” [SNEAKERS]

My leather so soft! Something about these look very luxurious...they would be pleasant break from the beeswax Clarks desert boot I have in heavy rotation, without ditching the colour code. These are Tier 0 so they will be available from the Limited Edition Vault as of November 2nd.

Nike Blazer Hi Premium ND Selvage [SNEAKERS]

If you're particular about your denim, you are probably well versed in the appropriate protocol of purchasing and wearing selvage denim. The ODB raw wearers, that spend a lifetime breaking them in, creating whiskers and honeycombs along way...always buying a size or two down because of the shrink to fit ratio...whether or not these carry over to these sneakers is something I'll just have to find out myself. If so...I'd be a size 9.

Jordan Spizike Black/Red-Cement Grey [SNEAKERS]

Never owned a pair of Spizike's, but I could walk in these!

Heavily inspired by the Air Jordan IV Black/Cement Grey, this sneaker features a predominately black upper with minimal red accents on the laceholders and sections on the outsole. The cement grey details appear on the straps and side wall. Could this be the best colorway seen on the Jordan Spizike yet? The Jordan Spizike Black/Red-Cement Grey will hit retailers in February 2010 for $175.

Air Jordan 11 (XI) / Air Jordan 12 (XII) Countdown Package

I can honestly say I haven't purchased a single countdown pack this entire year. I thought I would have been gung-ho over the 20 (XX) and 3 (III) package but Nike ruined the 20's! (Anybody with the 3's in an 11 e-mail me.) However, Nike has definitely saved the best for last. I will go on the record and say that I will be there front and centre to pick up this package, maybe even two! These puppies go on sale December 26th if you don't have a connect...

Nike's Tier One Collection @ Holt Renfrew

Nike is going high end, and is teaming up with the Canadian equivalent of Barney's to do it...check out the interview Jane Shaw Head of Corporate Communications for Nike did with Holt's explaining what the collection is all about:

This August, NIKE's Tier One collection premiers at Holt Renfrew. Jane Shaw, of NIKE Canada, explains why the collection's well-edited selection of fashion-forward women's footwear is THE fall choice for trendsetters, connoisseurs and serious shoppers alike.

Tell us about the Tier One collection.
The Tier One collection was created by the Pinnacle Metro Design category at NIKE; it's exclusively available in Canada at Holt Renfrew.

How do this collection's shoes differ from more mass styles?
The collection follows a European design esthetic, trompe l'oeil, which means "to mislead the eye". The shoe uppers have a sublimated print on satin mimicking various iconic NIKE styles, such as the NIKE Blazer.

Why a Holt Renfrew launch?
We feel that the collection's styles are best represented at Holt Renfrew because they are an elevated product line that is not being shown - or sold - anywhere else in Canada. It's our take on pinnacle fashion footwear and Holts is renowned for its pinnacle shopping experience.

Is NIKE developing a fashion-forward affinity?
NIKE fills a "void" in the shoe marketplace by providing premium fashion footwear with a really authentic and active twist.

Tell us more about what can be expected for fall '08.
Look forward to a capsule women's collection that takes a spin on the traditional NIKE Vandal (Holts Insider tip: the Vandal is one of NIKE's original men's basketball shoes), called the NIKE "Scandal TLO".

I'll be keeping an eye out for these joints...more to come I'm sure...

Nike Windrunner 82 Video

Music by Teenage Bad Girl. Directed By Jonas & François of El Nino. Jonas and François are recently coming off the fame of Justice's "D.A.N.C.E.", and Madonna's "4 Minutes" and have done some great work with this video. The music is pretty dope too!

Sneaker bootleggers are working overtime!

If you thought the Olympic opener was impressive, wait until you see what people has managed to pull by the way of knock of nikes! I know they've been preying on Nike's Sole (play on words) for a while now, but did they really have to hit Kanye before his joints officially dropped? Only $150? You say sizes 9-12? WOW! I created a little graphic as to how I think Kanye felt when he was informed of the...what I'll call, capitalism at it's finest. On the upside, I suppose this is the most sincerest form of flattery.

Prada's, Gucci's, Ato's, and even Common Project sneakers also have imitators, but those particular shoes have been out for years, if not decades, so it's not as much of a shocker.
