James Nachtwey x Bill Clinton x E.O. Wilson x TED x You & Me = End of Tuberculosis!

James Nachtwey is one of the most influential photojournalists in the world, and with these photographs you can see why!

In 2007 James was awarded for his extensive work of documenting what war, political turmoil, and disease is doing to men, women, and children around the world with the
2007 Technology, Entertainment, Design (TED) Prize. This brought with it $100,000 for which he teamed up with the 2 other winners of the award; former President of the United States Bill Clinton, and Harvard biologist E.O. Wilson for their one yearlong process of tracking tuberculosis (XDR TB) and turning their "one wish to change the world" into reality. Spread the word! More photos after the jump.

James gives a pretty in depth interview with WIRED about what he learned over the past year tracking the disease around the world.

Nachtwey: One of the purposes of journalism is to create awareness. If we’re not aware of something, we can’t deal with it. Tuberculosis has a cure. If you take action on TB, you will get results.
