I think it's safe to say that Drake fans, and non-fans alike saw the move from the stage to the big screen happening, but what I don't believe any of us saw happening was Al Pacino teaming up with the kid from Toronto for Arbitrage ...that is, without equivocation, risk-free profit at zero cost. Haaaa!The Nicholas Jarecki written ("The Outsider") indie financial thriller (Jarecki will also be directing) follows a hedge fund magnate (Pacino) who is in over his head and desperate to complete the sale of his shady trading empire to a major bank before his fraud is revealed. However, an unexpected, bloody error forces him to turn to the most unlikely corner for help in protecting him from rivals who want to bring him down. Susan Sarandon and Eva Green ("Casino Royale") are set to play the character's wife and art dealer mistress, respectively.
Thematically, I'm thinking the film will be something like Wallstreet meets The Thomas Crown Affair... but we'll have wait and see, won't we?
Production is scheduled for this March in New York.
