Why White Supremacists Support Barack Obama
"If recent polls are to be believed, white voters favor John McCain over Barack Obama by nearly ten percentage points, but the McCain and Obama camps probably haven’t factored in the following fact: In an informal Esquire survey, three out of four white supremacists prefer Obama, while McCain is the clear favorite among black nationalists. (Sure, our methodology suffered from an extraordinarily low sample size -- limited to four white supremacists and one black nationalist -- but just because it wouldn’t fly with Gallup doesn’t mean there ain't a kernel of truth in there.) This is just one of many surprising views that emerged after we talked to extremists about this historic electoral showdown between a 46-year-old black man and a 71-year-old white man."

If you didn't hear about it, the Obama campaign ran a 30 minute commercial on 7 major news networks last night from 8:00pm - 8:30pm. It cost in upward of $5,000,000 was watched by about 23 million viewers, and in my opinion was impeccably done. Duke looked very presidential, and you got the sense that he's ready to take on the 21st century for the betterment the world, not just the U.S.A.

Obama x J.Crew
This is pretty amazing! If you're following American politics you might have heard about the GOP Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin's $150,000 wardrobe. So on Michelle Obama's stop by The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Jay took a guess at how much her outfit cost...to which he figured, in jest poking fun at Sarah Palin, cost $60,000 - $70,000. Mrs. Obama replied it's actually from J.Crew online, and here we are...with Google ad's that directs you to the page selling her $175 "metallic cloque pencil skirt." Now if only I can get Barack in an go&d tee!

ATF disrupts skinhead plot to assassinate Obama
DAMN! He hasn't even won yet!
Federal agents have broken up a plot to assassinate Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama and shoot or decapitate 102 black people in a Tennessee murder spree, the ATF said Monday.
In court records unsealed Monday, federal agents said they disrupted plans to rob a gun store and target a predominantly African-American high school by two neo-Nazi skinheads. Agents said the skinheads did not identify the school by name.
Jim Cavanaugh, special agent in charge of the Nashville field office for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, said the two men planned to shoot 88 black people and decapitate another 14. The numbers 88 and 14 are symbolic in the white supremacist community.
The men also sought to go on a national killing spree, with Obama as its final target, Cavanaugh told The Associated Press.
"They said that would be their last, final act — that they would attempt to kill Sen. Obama," Cavanaugh said. "They didn't believe they would be able to do it, but that they would get killed trying."

808s & Heartbreak in stores Nov. 25th
This is the official album artwork for Kanye's new album, and I have come across 2 more leaks for everyone as well! I can honestly say that this album seems to come completely out of left field to me, and probably most others but I am very receptive and can feel it. I guess to try and put things in a little perspective it is music from a man who has lost his mom, and then went on to end what looked like a budding relationship on it's way to marriage. Relationships are tough, and nothing mends a broken heart like a heavy bass line and a vocoder....just ask Zapp & Roger!

Police: McCain Volunteer's "Mutilation" Story Made Up
A McCain campaign volunteer who reported that a tall black man robbed her and then cut a "B" onto her cheek after seeing a McCain bumper sticker on her car has been given a polygraph test because of "inconsistencies" in her story, police said.
This is so wrong on so many levels...but there are a lot of crazies out there!
*UPDATE*

I picked up my first pair of A.P.C a few weeks ago and they have immediately become my favourite jeans. The New Standards I picked up are raw/rigid and the idea is that you break them in, but now apparently I can skip that step. Folks can soon purchase a pre-broken in pair directly from A.P.C, that was originally sold back to the company from say...me! for half price, cleaned, dressed up and re-sold at premium. Bloomingdales x iPod x The Beatles
This is wild because the apple is actually not allowed to sell any Beatles music on iTunes! Nevertheless, Bloomingdale's has come up with the ingenious idea aimed a the Beatles die hard fans. For $795, you'll receive a custom 120 GB iPod (no music on it!), 13 original Beatles CDs, two masters, the "Love CD", and an engraved guitar pick all encased in collector's box. I love me some Beatles just as much as the next guy, but $800 for some CD's that I have to rip myself is a little crazy.
The Economy Grinds Vancouver's Ritz-Carlton Tower Construction To A Hault.
Construction has stopped at the site for the 58-story Ritz-Carlton tower in Vancouver. The real estate developer, the Holborn Group, says that the work stoppage is not due to the economic crisis but that they are looking at design changes to the structure and attached parkade. The $500 million project is currently just a hole in the ground. Workers have been sent home and the signs announcing the building were removed. The sales office is now only open by appointment. So far 50% of the condo project has been sold (20 stories are planned for the hotel and 38 for the condo units). No word yeti on when the project will resume. The luxury condos have been priced between $2.5 million and $10 million, with the penthouse priced at $28 million.

Eminem Endorses Obama!
Via FreeP
BC broadcaster Zane Lowe that he would be voting for Barack Obama next month, saying that the U.S. "needs something to change." OK -- let's play Tom Brokaw for a minute: Why, Em? "I can't get too political because I don't know enough," the Detroit rapper said. "I mean, I know we are going into a recession. Pardon the cliché, but we need something to change. I think Barack would be a breath of fresh air, to get in there and actually get what's left of the Bush administration out the door." The rest of the chat was about his forthcoming new album, "'Relapse," and how it was produced by Dr. Dre.
DIPLO SAID THIS WILL LIKELY BE HIS LAST DJ TOUR!
I was planning on hitting up Circa tonight for this show, and then on lunch I contemplated the idea of skipping it...now after reading a Q&A with Diplo from NOW Mag, I figure it would be a grave injustice to myself not to be there!
"I’ve played pretty much every major dance club on the circuit in North America, so this will likely be my final DJ tour, although I’ll probably still make one-off appearances here and there. I don’t want to be like every other DJ who just shows up at the big clubs and plays all the trendy tunes. I have no problem playing stuff I’ve recorded, my own edits of recent club joints, my friends’ records and whatever else feels right." -Diplo

Colin Powell Endorses Barack Obama
I went to see W. last night, and after watching it (if the story is actually based on any truth) you see that Gen. Powell was an independent thinker, and typically broke away from the Bush administration. Nonetheless, this is great news for Obama, and pretty bad news for McCain as he and Gen. Powell are friends, and have been so for over 25 years.
Obama Is Making It Rain On 'Em!
WASHINGTON — Barack Obama raised more than $150 million in September, a stunning and unprecedented eruption of political giving that has given him a wide spending advantage over rival John McCain.
The Democrat's campaign released the figure Sunday, one day before it must file a detailed report of its monthly finances with the Federal Election Commission.
Obama's money is fueling a vast campaign operation in an expanding field of competitive states. It also has underwritten a wave of both national and targeted video advertising unseen before in a presidential contest.
Campaign manager David Plouffe, in an e-mail to supporters Sunday morning, said the campaign had added 632,000 new donors in September, for a total of 3.1 million contributors to the campaign. He said the average donation was $86.

Nike's Tier One Collection @ Holt Renfrew
Nike is going high end, and is teaming up with the Canadian equivalent of Barney's to do it...check out the interview Jane Shaw Head of Corporate Communications for Nike did with Holt's explaining what the collection is all about:
This August, NIKE's Tier One collection premiers at Holt Renfrew. Jane Shaw, of NIKE Canada, explains why the collection's well-edited selection of fashion-forward women's footwear is THE fall choice for trendsetters, connoisseurs and serious shoppers alike.
Tell us about the Tier One collection.
The Tier One collection was created by the Pinnacle Metro Design category at NIKE; it's exclusively available in Canada at Holt Renfrew.
How do this collection's shoes differ from more mass styles?
The collection follows a European design esthetic, trompe l'oeil, which means "to mislead the eye". The shoe uppers have a sublimated print on satin mimicking various iconic NIKE styles, such as the NIKE Blazer.
Why a Holt Renfrew launch?
We feel that the collection's styles are best represented at Holt Renfrew because they are an elevated product line that is not being shown - or sold - anywhere else in Canada. It's our take on pinnacle fashion footwear and Holts is renowned for its pinnacle shopping experience.
Is NIKE developing a fashion-forward affinity?
NIKE fills a "void" in the shoe marketplace by providing premium fashion footwear with a really authentic and active twist.
Tell us more about what can be expected for fall '08.
Look forward to a capsule women's collection that takes a spin on the traditional NIKE Vandal (Holts Insider tip: the Vandal is one of NIKE's original men's basketball shoes), called the NIKE "Scandal TLO".
I'll be keeping an eye out for these joints...more to come I'm sure...

DEBATE...Final Round!
Kanye - 808’s & Heartbreak Tracklisting (Unofficial)
Last night, Kanye West publicly debuted his new album, 808s & Heartbreak, at the Ace Gallery in Los Angeles via a collaboration with Italian artist Vanessa Beecroft. After waiting in a loading area with an open bar and a DJ, we walked up a driveway illuminated by florescent lights to a darkened room where approximately forty nude women, most of them wearing face-obscuring masks seemingly made of faux lamb's wool, stood in the middle—black girls in the front, white girls in the back. Then the entire album played without introduction or explanation. The women were backlit by glowing lights—mostly red and purple, sometimes strobing, often pulsing and sporadically illuminating. When "Love Lockdown" played three songs in, some of the models started sitting down on the floor, others going so far as to fully recline by the end of the album. Mos Def sat down front-and-center, Michael Rapaport talked excitedly to the security guards, Will.i.am watched from one end of the U the audience formed around the women, Rick Ross watched from the other end (even singing along to some songs after an apparent even sneakier sneak preview). As for album: yes, it's almost entirely sung by West, aside from one verse by Young Jeezy on "Amazing" and a duet with Lil Wayne; yes, it is sung almost entirely through Auto-Tune; yes, some people are not going to be sure what to make of it, but we applaud West's decision to step off a creative ledge wearing a jetpack that no one else is sure will actually work.

Obama Invades Your PS3 & X-Box!
Barack Obama's ads are now appearing in several sports video games, including the granddaddy of them all, Madden football.
The Obama campaign has purchased space in the popular Xbox 360 game "Madden NFL 09″ and nine other titles by video game maker Electronic Arts, said Holly Rockwood, the company's director of corporate communications.
Only gamers playing online in 10 states can see the ads, which appear as stadium signage or billboards, Rockwood said. (The ads are downloaded when gamers log on to the Xbox Internet service.) Unsurprisingly, all 10 states are swing states: Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Indiana, Montana, North Carolina, New Mexico, Nevada, Ohio and Wisconsin. President Bush won all of those states in 2004 except for Wisconsin.

Despite it all...Folks Are Voting For Obama!
This is an amazing piece of news! As clock ticks away toward the end of the presidential election in the U.S. It become more and more clear that a lot of people are planning to vote for Obama. This is weather they really like him or not! An e-mail sent from a staunch Republican about a focus group he hosted tells the story:
Reagan Dems and Independents. Call them blue-collar plus. Slightly more Target than Walmart.
Yes, the spot worked. Yes, they believed the charges against Obama. Yes, they actually think he's too liberal, consorts with bad people and WON'T BE A GOOD PRESIDENT...but they STILL don't give a f***. They said right out, "He won't do anything better than McCain" but they're STILL voting for Obama.
The two most unreal moments of my professional life of watching focus groups:
54 year-old white male, voted Kerry '04, Bush '00, Dole '96, hunter, Nascar fan...hard for Obama said: "I'm gonna hate him the minute I vote for him. He's gonna be a bad president. But I won't ever vote for another god-damn Republican. I want the government to take over all of Wall Street and bankers and the car companies and Wal-Mart run this county like we used to when Reagan was President."
The next was a woman, late 50s, Democrat but strongly pro-life. Loved B. and H. Clinton, loved Bush in 2000. "Well, I don't know much about this terrorist group Barack used to be in with that Weather guy but I'm sick of paying for health insurance at work and that's why I'm supporting Barack."
I felt like I was taking crazy pills. I sat on the other side of the glass and realized...this really is the Apocalypse. The Seventh Seal is broken and its time for eight years of pure, delicious crazy....
To quote D.L. Hughley
"George Bush is such a bad president that the country is going -- we're going to vote for the black guy. That should tell you how bad of the last eight years have been."

New Sherlock Holmes Film Unveiled In London
It will not be the Sherlock Holmes on film many remember - the suave Basil Rathbone to the bumbling Nigel Bruce - but a new big budget action movie will be faithful to Arthur Conan Doyle's original stories, its director Guy Ritchie said yesterday.
Shooting is about to begin in London on the Warner Bros movie with Robert Downey Jr taking the lead alongside Jude Law, now confirmed as Dr Watson. Kelly Reilly will play Watson's love interest, Mary, Rachel McAdams has signed on to play the traditional object of Holmes' affections, Irene Adler, while Mark Strong is Blackwood, the "unremittingly evil" baddie.
Yesterday those involved gathered in London's Freemason's Hall - where scenes will also be shot - to talk about the movie, one of two rival planned productions. The other will be a comedy with Sacha Baron Cohen and Will Ferrell. Ritchie's film, to be released in 2010, will be based on an original comic book currently being penned by Sherlock Holmes producer Lionel Wigram.
Your request is being processed... Don Cheadle Replaces Terrence Howard In "Iron Man 2"
Don Cheadle is stepping in to replace Terrence Howard in "Iron Man 2," Marvel Studios' sequel to its summer blockbuster.
In the movie, Howard played Jim Rhodes, Tony Stark/Iron Man's best friend and future armor-clad hero War Machine. One scene featured Howard looking at a silver suit of armor and saying "Next time," a line that caused great delight for fans.
But there will be no next time for Howard.
Marvel had no comment, but sources close to the deal said negotiations with Howard fell through over financial differences, among other reasons. Marvel, which had wanted to work with Cheadle, then decided to take the role in another direction and approached the actor, who is shooting Antoine Fuqua's "Brooklyn's Finest" with Richard Gere and Ethan Hawke.
Rhodes is expected to play a larger part in the sequel, which is rumored to go beyond high-tech villains.

New Wallstreet Film! [MOVIES]
As Wall Street continues to capture headlines due to market volatility, 20th Century Fox is moving forward with a "Wall Street" sequel.
Allan Loeb ("21") has been tapped to pen the screenplay, which is being fast-tracked by the studio as a Michael Douglas starrer, though the actor is not formally attached.
The modern-day story will again center on Gordon Gekko, who has recently been sprung from prison and re-emerges into a much more tumultuous financial world than the one he once lorded over. The Bud Fox character, played by Charlie Sheen in the original, will not appear in the latest incarnation.

Warren Buffett Becomes US Richest, After Bill Gates Loses $1.5 Billion
Warren Buffett has overtaken Bill Gates to become the richest American in the Forbes 400 list, Bloomberg said, citing a recalculated list to be published later this month.
The magazine, in its October 27 issue, recalculates the effect of September's financial news on the wealthiest Americans, those who make up its Forbes 400 list, the agency said.
The Berkshire Hathaway Inc chairman added $8 billion to his net worth in a 33-day period, August 29 to October 1, to reach $58 billion, the agency said, citing the magazine.
Buffett overtook the Microsoft Corp co-founder, whose net worth declined $1.5 billion to $55.5 billion during the 33-day period, the agency said.

Wah Too's, Hong Shing's? Naaah son!
A popular restaurant in Chinatown has been shut down by Toronto Public Health after a rat was caught on camera roaming inside.
A passerby walking on the street shot a video of a rat in the window of Happy Seven restaurant on 358 Spadina Avenue, and posted it on a popular Toronto blog website Wednesday.
A public health representative told CP24 the eatery would be closed down after they saw the rodent on television Thursday morning.
An inspector was sent to the restaurant on October 2, but officials said there was no evidence of a rodent problem then.
The entire city block, which is in the Dundas Street and Spadina Avenue area, will be inspected, the rep says.

THE KING OF ATLAN(TIC)A…T.I.P
Faaar from million first week, but a record breaker nonetheless!
T.I. earns his third straight No. 1 on The Billboard 200 as "Paper Trail" debuts at the top this week. The rapper earns his biggest sales week ever with the Grand Hustle/Atlantic set, which moved 568,000 copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan, which is also the third-biggest sales frame of the year.
T.I. crowned the chart with 2006's "King" and 2007's "T.I. Vs. T.I.P." This marks Atlantic's biggest sales week since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking data in 1991.
T.I. also has a big week over on the Hot 100, where he breaks the record for largest climb to No. 1 -- a feat he already accomplished only six weeks ago. "Live Your Life" featuring Rihanna, the second single from "Paper Trail," leaps 80-1, replacing the album's first single "Whatever You Like" at No. 1; the latter leapt to the top 71-1 the week of Sept. 6 and remained there for five weeks total. That makes this T.I. the first artist to replace himself at No. 1 since Usher traded in "Burn" for "Confessions Part II" in July 2004.
Marilyn Manson x Ne-Yo?
Can you picture it: Ne-Yo jammin' onstage with Marilyn Manson?
Well, it just may become a reality. The R&B crooner says he and the wackadoo rock star are totally serious about collaborating.
"It's going to be interesting," Ne-Yo said the other night at the L.A. premiere of The Secret Life of Bees. "I have no idea what we're going to do, what it's going to sound like. Just Ne-Yo and Marilyn Manson in the same room—we're going to figure something out."
Ne-Yo said he was approached by Manson's people after he boasted in a media interview that he's so flexible, he could even write a song for the rocker.
Meanwhile, Bees star Dakota Fanning said she's looking forward to Candace Bushnell's upcoming young-adult book series chronicling Carrie Bradshaw's high school years.
"Sex and the City is more for older women, but they're so much fun," says 14-year-old Fanning. "I'm sure they'll be great books."
Fanning would even welcome the idea of appearing in a likely movie adaptation. "That would probably be up to them," she says. "They'd have to choose who I'm most like."
She's certainly getting some on-the-job training. Fanning said she goes to school just like any other teen. She beamed, "I'm a cheerleader."
Also at the premiere were Queen Latifah, Jennifer Hudson, Will Smith, Jada Pinkett-Smith, Sanaa Latham, Nate Parker, Tristan Wilds and Eva Pigford.

Sexiest Woman Alive...
I know I said I am readying for the debate 2 minutes ago, but I had to do this! A beautiful compliment to the post of best rapper alive...Esquire Mag has declared Halle Berry the sexiest woman, and the feature of the November issue.
Halle's response, "I don't know exactly what it means, but being 42 and having just had a baby, I think I'll take it."
Obama Vs. McCain Round 2!
Alright...I'm gearing up for debate. (Precisely 6 minutes away at this point) Just like the last time...I advise you to get your CNN on!
*LATE Update: Technical victory for Obama...no knock out.
The Best Rapper Alive...
Eminem issued this statement:
"It's obviously an honor to have won the fans' support by being voted the Best Rapper Alive," Em said in a statement released Tuesday (October 7). "I don't think that there is any one rapper that is simply the best, though. Everyone who was in consideration and many others are the best at certain things, and at what they do. But since Vibe's offering the distinction, hell yeah, I'll accept!"
LOL...this makes me reminds of a quote by Chris Rock:
You know the world is going crazy when the best rapper is a white guy, the best golfer is a black guy, the tallest guy in the NBA is Chinese, France is accusing the U.S. of arrogance, Germany doesn't want to go to war, and the three most powerful men in America are named "Bush", "Dick", and "Colon".
Obama Hits The Runway (Again!)
When it was reported that Donatella Versace's most recent men's collection was inspired by Barack Obama, Donatella was quick to correct the press. Obama himself didn't inspire her, but rather "the type of man Barack Obama represents." However designers showing at Paris Fashion Week conveyed no such reserves about using their runway shows to blatantly support Barack. Sonia Rykiel's spring 2009 collection included sweaters that read "I have a dream" and "Obama." Jean-Charles de Castelbajac put Barack's grinning face on a dress paired with gloves that read "yes" and "no" — probably his way of saying "rock the vote." And at the end of her program notes, Stella McCartney wrote, “P.S. Vote Obama!!” None of this surprises us. What does, however, is that Barack didn't permeate the collections in London, Milan, or New York in this way. Maybe designers in other parts of the world didn't want to add fuel to the whole Obama-is-a-celebrity fire? Like embracing a First Lady who's posed nude, leave it to the French to say, "Yes, we can!"Via Amy Odell at NYmag
